Jaime King's Secret Marriage Ends in a Nasty Divorce Twist

Jaime King’s estranged husband is pushing to finalize their divorce without an agreement in place, the latest turn in a split the actress has said came completely out of the blue.

Austin Sosa, who secretly married King before the 2025 Christmas holiday, filed legal documents asking the court to move the case toward a default conclusion, arguing there is no agreement between them and no shared assets or debts to divide, according to TMZ. He also checked a box waiving his own right to seek spousal support from King.

The Public Image Problem

Sosa originally filed for divorce on Jan. 22, a move King has said she did not see coming. “I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere,” King told Page Six in a statement at the time. “I was with Austin the night before it became public, and while like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship.”

King separately addressed and denied speculation linking her to hotelier Vikram Chatwal, calling their interactions “strictly professional business meetings.” She has asked for privacy, saying her focus is on her career and her two sons, James and Leo, whom she shares with ex-husband Kyle Newman from an earlier, separately contentious divorce.

What Happens Next

With Sosa now pushing for a default resolution, the case could conclude without King formally contesting the terms, depending on how she responds to the latest filing. Her representatives have not issued a new statement addressing this stage of the proceedings.
