Mia Goth Seeks Primary Custody in Divorce From Shia LaBeouf

Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf and is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old daughter. The petition, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, says the actors separated in July 2025 and asks that LaBeouf receive visitation rights.
Goth also requested that the court deny spousal support to either party, according to the Associated Press. The filing ends years of uncertainty about a marriage that included an earlier separation and later reunion.

The divorce petition cites irreconcilable differences. It seeks primary custody for Goth while preserving visitation for LaBeouf, with no spousal support awarded to either spouse. Those are requests in a new case, not a final custody or financial order.
The actors met while filming Nymphomaniac: Vol. II in 2012 and married in 2016. They announced a separation in 2018 but reconciled in 2020, and their daughter was born in 2022.
A Separate Legal Dispute Ended the Day Before
The divorce filing came one day after singer FKA twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett, moved to dismiss her second lawsuit against LaBeouf. According to Entertainment Weekly, LaBeouf agreed to void confidentiality provisions from a prior settlement, ending that specific dispute.
Twigs originally accused LaBeouf of abuse in a 2020 lawsuit, allegations he disputed. The parties settled in 2025. Their later disagreement centered on whether confidentiality terms could restrict Twigs from discussing her own experiences.
The Divorce Case Is Just Beginning
Representatives for Goth and LaBeouf did not immediately respond to the AP’s requests for comment. The court will need to address the custody and support requests as the divorce proceeds; the filing itself does not decide them.
